NHS Midwives/Antenatal

If a patient has done a positive pregnancy test, the next step is to contact a midwife as soon as possible, preferably before eight weeks into the pregnancy. Patients can contact a local midwife direct, and don’t need to see a GP first. You can also use the pregnancy self-referral form to refer a pregnancy. Self-referral can be completed by or on behalf of the pregnant woman.
