Community Urgent Eye Service (CUES)
Suitable for all ages, must be registered with a local GP. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Symptoms that can be treated:
- Foreign body in the eye
- Recent and sudden loss of vision
- Recently occurring flashes and floaters
- Red or painful eye or eyelids
This is an NHS service provided by accredited optometrists (also known as opticians).
Please note this is not an eye test.
Major eye conditions that are being reguarly monitored by an optometrist or hospital eye service, such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma, are not covered by this service. In this case, you should consult your usual optometrist or hospital eye service directly for advice in the usual way.

Dental – Emergency Dental Services
Patients registered with a dentist should contact their dentist for emergency dental treatment.
Patients without a regular dentist, should contact NHS 111 to source an emergency appointment.

District Nurses – Care Plus Group
Patients must be registered with a GP in North East Lincolnshire. Initial access to support from the community nursing team is through GP referral.
The district nursing team provide a range of interventions including:
- Assessment of health and social care needs, formulating an agreed care plan
- Continence assessment and advice
- Chronic and acute wound care
- Education in the prevention of pressure ulcers and provision of equipment
- End of life care plan
- Support and advice for patients and carers in self-management of their care
- Venepuncture for management of patient’s long term conditions

If you are aged 16 – 19*, you may register via our online registration form here.
Anyone aged 13 – 19* may also register at one of the C-Card Registration Points. This takes about 20 minutes. You will need to give your date of birth and the first part of your postcode. This information is confidential, and you cannot be traced from it. You will be issued with a credit sized C-Card.
